Chewing Gum is a collection of works made of abandoned jewelry pieces; objects which perhaps once had a sentimental place in someone's heart and that have become symbols of the cultural leftovers that society constantly replaces. Each individual piece is smashed with one blow of a hammer that flattens the piece into a deformed mass and accidental abstract shape. In some cases the new form indicates the original use of the object, where as in other cases, the original jewelry piece is unidentifiable. Jewelry pieces that have suffered a loss, and through reconstruction, turn into new pieces and have regained their rightful position.
